Many Christians lose their joy not because of personal sin or hardship—but because their eyes are always on others. Constantly evaluating preachers, ministries, and movements leads to a downward spiral of criticism, judgment, and bitterness. Like Asaph, who once wrote songs of worship but grew sour by focusing on the prosperity of the wicked, we too can fall into legalism and spiritual pride when we idolize people instead of fixing our eyes on God.
