The cities of Refuge are an amazing provision of God's mercy. Such a provision ultimately points to the Lord Jesus as our Redeemer. Our need for a Redeemer, for a Him to pay a ransom for us, is seen in that we have all sinned, yes, even guilty of murder God in cold blood, and the avenger of blood was in hot pursuit after us.
