In James 1:13-15, we study temptation and how to resist it. James makes clear that we should not blame God for our temptations but rather the source of them are our sinful desires. We are lured and drawn into sin because of our sinful flesh. Once we know where the source is, we can rightly deal with temptation. We need God to change our hearts and give us new desires. Believers are given new desires that wage war with our old flesh. We can have victory over temptation by taking sin seriously and dealing with it as God would want us to.
