At the end of the Sermon on the Plain Jesus uses the now well-known analogy of making sure that we build our lives upon the rock as opposed to the sand. James teaches us that the rock Jesus speaks of is obedience to His Word. By obeying the Word of God we can assure ourselves that when the storms of life pound against us, we will continue to stand strong and sturdy.
