Does your understanding of what it means to be a Christian require power for the making of a Christian? If you say yes, then I would ask, what kind of power is required? Is it a power superior to anything found in man himself? Is it a power outside of man that is required? Or do people become Christians and experience everything that the Bible says Christians experience by virtue of some power that resides in man? However people conceive of it, it is absolutely true to say that in the minds of many people what being a Christian is not, is a spiritual condition produced by divine power.
