DOCTRINE: The Christian’s Charter or Privileges; What belongs to those who belong to Christ.

I. ALL THINGS ARE GIVEN TO THE SAINTS BY GOD FOR THEIR GOOD (1 Corinthians 3:21b-22)

I) In Christ, all FAITHFUL MINISTERS of the gospel are given to you by God for your good (1 Corinthians 3:22a). II) In Christ, THE WORLD is given to you by God for your good (1 Corinthians 3:22b). III) In Christ, your LIFE is given to you by God for your good (1 Corinthians 3:22c). IV) In Christ, your DEATH is given to you by God for your good (1 Corinthians 3:22d). V) In Christ, your PRESENT CIRCUMSTANCES are given to you by God for your good (1 Corinthians 3:22e). VI) In Christ, your FUTURE CIRCUMSTANCES are given to you by God for your good (1 Corinthians 3:22f).

(I) In the future, you will become free from any stain of sin (Ephesians 5:27). (II) In the future, you will be free from the indwelling of sin (Romans 7:23-24). (III) In the future you will be free from any temptation to sin (James 1:14). (IV) In the future, you will be free from any commission of sin (1 Thessalonians 5:23). (V) In the future, you will be free from the possibility of sin (Revelation 3:12). (VI) In the future, you will be free from the presence of sin (Revelation 21:27). (VII) In the future, your soul will be made perfect (Hebrews 12:23). (VIII) In the future, you will walk in perfect holiness (Isaiah 35:8). (IX) In the future, you will go to live in Christ’s Father’s house (John 14:2). (X) In the future, you will go to live in the sinless city where you will worship God with all His saints and elect angels in the unadulterated splendor of holiness (Revelation 21:22-23). (XI) In the future, you will be surrounded by the elect angels and other saints made perfect (Hebrews 12:22-23). (XII) In the future, you will be reunited to your loved ones who died in Christ (2 Samuel 12:23). (XIII) In the future, you shall be with Christ in paradise (Luke 23:43). (XIV) In the future you shall see Jesus face to face (1 Corinthians 13:12). XV) In the future, you will have rest from all your soul-tiring labors (Revelation 4:13, Hebrews 4:9).

II. THE REASON ALL THINGS BELONG TO A BELIEVER IS BECAUSE BELIEVERS BELONG TO CHRIST, AND CHRIST TO GOD (1 Corinthians 3:23a)

I) All of you, saints and sinners, belong to Christ by CREATION (Colossians 1:16-17). II) You who believe, or you who will repent and believe even now, belong to Christ by DONATION (John 6:27). III) And you who believe not only belong to Christ by Donation, but also by PURCHASE (1 Peter 1:18-19). IV) And now, having purchased you with His blood, He treasures you with His heart—you in Christ belong to Him by POSSESSION (1 Peter 2:9).
