I. We depend on GRACE FOR EVERY ASPECT OF OUR DAILY LIVES! WE NEED GRACE!
The GOOD NEWS IS THE GOSPEL! The word "grace" means "goodwill, loving-kindness, unmerited favor". Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7.
In Titus 2:11-15, we read about the Grace of God brings Salvation and how GRACE certainly does not permit or give a license to have the freedom to sin or continue in sin. Titus 2:11-15
LET'S TALK DISPENSATION. There are seven dispensations they are Innocence, Conscience, Government, Promise, Law, Grace, and the Millennial Kingdom.
What is a dispensation according to scripture? The word dispensation, as used in the Scriptures refers to different administrations or stewardship which occurs in specific time periods or another term, ages, involving how God deals with mankind. In this Dispensation of Grace, we are given the DOCTRINE OF JESUS CHRIST! THE DISPENSATION OF GRACE includes accountability, responsibility, obedience, and faithfulness on man's part to a HOLY AND RIGHTEOUS SAVIOR.
The dispensation of Grace, also called the Church Age, refers to the creation and expansion of the church. It is during this era that Jesus is building His Church Matthew 16:18. It began at Pentecost in Acts 2 chapter. Also during this dispensation of the Church, the Gentiles were grafted in. Romans 11:25 Luke 21:24
The fullness of the Gentiles will end soon at the second coming of Jesus Christ, marking the Rapture, Jesus coming will take His Church out of this world and then the national conversion of Israel will take place. God has not forgotten His people the Jews. (Romans 11:25-29 Isaiah 66:7-8 Zechariah. 12:10--Zechariah 13:1; 14:1-21).
Presently, we are preaching the Gospel of Grace which is the Gospel of the Church Age. Keep in mind that after the Rapture the Tribulation period will be ushered in and an Antichrist will take his place to deceive the nations, the world, and also an EVERLASTING GOSPEL WILL BE PREACHED FOR THE SALVATION OF THE JEWS! Revelation 14:6
In this study "The CHURCH and the NEED for GRACE - PART II" comes under three headings:
II. THE “NEED” FOR GRACE
Grace is a gift that is given to us by God. Grace also helps us to live this holy life successfully.
Nobody deserves God's Grace, but Everybody NEEDS GRACE!
2. THE “PROVISION” OF GRACE
•God's justice requires an appropriate sacrifice for sin. This no man can offer.
•Because God loves us, He provided JESUS as the perfect sacrifice for sin.
3. THE “RECEPTION” OF GRACE
•Being buried with Jesus in baptism for the remission of your sins and being filled with the Holy Ghost SPEAKING in TONGUES. Mark 16:15-16; Acts 2:38; 8:35-38; 22:16.
•Remaining faithful to Jesus even unto death Hebrews 3:12-14; Revelations 2:10.
•Baptism in the name of JESUS is a washing of regeneration that involves God’s mercy and grace. Titus 3:4-7.
•Baptism unites one with Jesus in His burial and resurrection to new life. Galatians 3:27, Romans 6:3-8.
•Baptism is how we put on Jesus. Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:11-13.
•Baptism saves as an appeal for salvation. 1 Peter 3:21.
WHY DON’T MORE PEOPLE RESPOND THIS WAY TO GOD’S SAVING GRACE?
It may be some do not understand the “need” for grace. They consider themselves good moral people, go to church.. Yet, in nearly every example of salvation in the book of Acts, those being saved were already deeply religious and very moral! But as Isaiah said, "all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags". Isaiah 64:6. You must be BORN AGAIN!
It may be that some have not been taught the proper “reception” of GRACE. Many today are told to "Say the sinner's prayer", but are not REGENERATED BY THE Holy Ghost. Mark 16:15-16; Acts 2:36-38; 22:16!
BEWARE OF SATAN LIES AND THE NICE, KIND, SMART, EDUCATED, HARDWORK, INTELLIGENT, CARING PEOPLE THAT HE USES TO REACH YOU.
Satan, THE ENEMY OF JESUS, can only deceive because he has NO POWER.
HOW ABOUT YOU? DO YOU BELIEVE JESUS WORD FOR SALVATION?
III. GRACE INVOLVES JESUS' GIFT OF HIMSELF. 1 Peter 1:18-19
CONCLUSION
What then is the proper response to God's GRACE?
It begins with faith, repentance, and baptism. Faith in Jesus who gave Himself for us. Romans 3:24-26. Repentance for sin, which God commands of all - Acts 17:30-31. Baptism into Jesus Christ and the infilling the Holy Ghost. Romans 6:1-4; Titus 3:4-8
God's Grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, live soberly, righteously, godly, and be zealous for every good work.
What has been your response to the Grace of God?
