The difficulties found in ministry were clearly set before us at the end of the first chapter of this book.

An elder must hold fast to the faithful Word that is in accordance with the teaching so that he may be able to instruct in sound doctrine and to rebuke those who contradict it.

This is no hypothetical scenario. It’s real. As it was for Titus, so it is for us. There are MANY who contradict sound teaching.
