Our passage seems almost out of place in the Tabernacle construction narratives. Smack in the middle of discussions about necessary objects (incense, bronze basin for ceremonial washing, anointing oil) it talks about a requirement to give an offering for those counted mature enough. What did God want them to learn through this, and what is He telling us today about Jesus Christ?
