Dr. Jordan Rogers begins preaching verse-by-verse through The Gospel of John in this sermon from John 1:1-2 entitled, “The Divine Word (Part 1)."

John’s purpose in John 1:1-5 is to abruptly introduce the reader to the Lord Jesus Christ. He does this by declaring five propositional truths concerning who Christ is. He declares Jesus is eternal, has always been co-existent with the Father, that He has always been deity, that He is the Creator of all things, and that He is the source of life itself. In this sermon, we look at the first two verses, and come to understand that truth that from eternity past Jesus Christ has always been and still is God.

The following is a sermon on John 1:1-2, and below you will find the video recording and a sermon outline to help you follow along as you watch. I hope this study tool helps you grow in your love for the Lord Jesus and in your obedience to Him.
