New Testament Scripture proves that the doctrine of baptisms listed in Hebrews 6:1-2 is one of six essential foundational Christian doctrines that all true followers of Christ must believe in and receive. The doctrine of baptisms (water and Spirit) is just as foundational as faith towards God, repentance from dead works, and faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Just as no one can be saved without true repentance, faith in God, and faith in the resurrection, so all true Christians must be baptized in water and in the Spirit.
