John and the other disciples encounter a Jewish exorcist casting out a demon in Jesus' name and try to stop him. Jesus, surprisingly, tells them they are the ones that need to stop. Those that are doing good works in Jesus' name will not speak evil of Him. This sounds like a dangerous statement. We have to use discernment and remember doctrine matters but that we also need to appreciate the genuine ministry of others even when that ministry occurs outside our church or even our normal circles. We can easily fall into the trap of envy over another success or forget who the true enemy really is. We all have to think through this because not everything goes but God doesn't just work through me.
