This Palm Sunday’s sermon, THE FAITHFUL FEW, is very interesting....let me ATTEMPT to explain.....
The three main events discussed today are Palm Sunday-Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, Good Friday-Jesus’ crucifixion, and Holy Saturday-Jesus’ sabbath rest in the grave. He goes in deep too Solid Rock! He analyzes the crowd that welcomes Christ on Sunday, scrutinizes the mob just days later on Friday and applauds the loyal few at the grave on Easter. Let me run that by you again a little differently...on one day they were shouting “Hosanna!” Days later “Crucify Him!” Everyone who once cheered for will NOT be there in the end. They sure didn’t for Jesus! Only THE FAITHFUL FEW showed up for the innocent one, the one who will NEVER leave or forsake us, the one who hung in agony, our only hope for salvation, JESUS! Listen out to all the individuals Rev. Douglas calls out who should have been there. It seems as if the list will never end. At that very moment you’re reminded of Jesus’ healing & grace. Right when you’re ready to hear about the next major event, the Resurrection Rev. Douglas ends it and leaves us wanting more. Stay tuned for next Sunday’s Easter sermon.
