Sermon Notes - April 24, 2022
“The God You May Not Know” (sermon #1)
John 17:3, Exodus 20:1-11

Few teachings of the Bible have been misrepresented in churches as much as what it means to know God. Often, if not usually, today it is taken to mean simply that a person has trusted Christ as personal Savior. But while that is a central part…and the starting place…for knowing God, there is certainly much more involved. Today we’ll begin a series of messages about knowing God. We’ll use the Ten Commandments as our launch pad for knowing God in a growing, personal way.

What does it mean to “know”?“Know” has several different meanings in Scripture.

“to of something”…like Romans 1:18-21

“to something”…like John 3:2 or Matthew 23:2-3

“to know in a ”…John 17:3

What does God say about knowing Him in His “Top Ten”?
