In the final part of his defense, Stephen reminds his accusers that Israel was never truly faithful, continually putting their faith in idols rather than the living God. This desire to put their trust into idols of their own making carried over to the making of the Temple itself! Good things, even great and holy things, can be turned into idols! Are there good things to which we cling? Are there things that once connected us to God that now stand in the way?
