Is Jeremiah 8:20 an expression of Israel's fading hope or a cruel accusation against God? In order to understand the eight chapter of Jeremiah, certain verses must be considered. They are verses - 15,19,22. as we consider the verses mentioned, the word expectations comes to mind. In three areas we see Israel's, Jeremiah's expectations - be unfulfilled, failed, and extinguished. God corrects Israel in her expectations first of all by declaring up front it is not His fault such is the case, but because of their sins judgment was coming. Apply to this in our day in Canada!
