The Bible is clear that we are saved through faith alone in Christ alone, and not by any works or merit of our own. We are not saved by anything that we DO, but rather by trusting with our whole being in what Christ has DONE. All of our ETERNITY is determined by whether we have FAITH in Jesus or NOT... It is therefore very obvious and clear that faith is very precious and that we should be concerned with examining and determining if we are in possession of true, Biblical faith. Assurance of salvation rests on being assured that you are not just PROFESSING to believe in Jesus, but that you are actually in POSSESSION of genuine, saving faith.
