This passage is not about fashion for priests. It teaches us significant insights about the priesthood of Jesus Himself. His priesthood was unique because He became like us, yet was also not like us. The Lord told Moses to “make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty” (Exodus 28:2). These were holy garments, in order to show the glory and beauty of the Lord and to teach the Israelites reverence in worship. Despite their similarity to fellow Israelites, priests were set-apart men whose garments teach us about how God regards us.
