Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity, and the rod of his fury will fail. — Proverbs 22:8
Mankind is industrious. God created us this way. What we do sows something. It sows one of two things — justice or injustice. Therefore what is reaped is blessing or calamity.
But sometimes, we men are too industrious. We think we need to right injustice by being justice. But this is not always the right thing to sow. By attempting to right injustice sometimes, we become injustice and sow the injustice we seek to cease. We fail to see that sowing injustice will fail because the fury of injustice is its own rod.
So the message is simple. Be industrious, but measure your impact. In your industriousness, don't sow injustice disguised as justice. You will only sow the wrong thing and get beaten by your own rod.
ASK THIS: Where do you feel you are being served injustice in your life? Are you tempted to be justice?
DO THIS: Let the injustice to you be its own justice.
PRAY THIS: Father, may I faithfully endure injustice as did your Son, Jesus. — Amen.
PLAY THIS: The Justice Song.
