Title: The “Roses and Whiskers” Principle
Series: James - A Faith That Works
Text: James 2:1-9
When Julie Andrews in the movie, The Sound of Music, sweetly sings about “raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens”, it sounds so sweet and innocent. But what happens when my favorite things become an attitude of favoritism about people? The book of James indicates that personal attitudes of favoritism are a problematic sin that blunts the specific mission of God’s people and His church. We live in a highly-charged culture of preferential injustice in all kinds of ways, but we, as believers, are to be a godly counter to those attitudes. Join us this coming Sunday for a look at dealing with favoritism in our personal faith.
