"When we anoint everyone with oil, it could be the only time in that day or indeed in their church life where someone has actually put their hand on them.

Touch is incredibly significant. I would suggest that one of the reasons why more people become Christians in an anointing service has little or not as much to do with the anointing and the oil as we think. It's more to do with the personal prayer and the personal touch."
