The past two moths has been both bitter and sweet for many of us. Bitter because we’re in the midst of mourning a wonderful, wise white haired man that most of us has known our entire lives-our beloved Pastor. Sweet because we’ve been reminiscing and celebrating his ‘ETERNAL LIFE (with) GOD!’ We will now honor his legacy and continue what he started.
Associate Minister, Rev. James Douglas, begins this week by reflecting on God’s ‘true and faithful servant,’ Pastor Johnson, and gives encouragement to his family by addressing them one by one. His heartfelt words gives comfort.

In this week’s sermon, THE TRUTH OF WHY WE CELEBRATE (Matthew 1:18 & 21), Rev. Douglas tells a simple yet powerful story. He warns of how the entire world must learn the truth and not focus on all the ‘hoopla’ and confusion that surrounds this date that gets celebrated annually around this time of year. He explains how the birth of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, is more than just a holiday and categorizes it as a HOLY DAY! Rev. Douglas uses Isiah, Micah, Moses, Job & Simeon as proof. He gives us specific reasons we celebrate and tells the logic behind each claim but that’s after he shares what God is. Listen out for the comparison between the ‘celebration’ of the Creation & the birth of Christ by God.
After giving us truth, facts, and evidence of why ‘Jesus is the Reason for the Season’ and how there is ‘No Christmas without Christ,’ Rev. Douglas instructs on how to find and accept Jesus as our Savior. This message sent from God is right on time! It’s is greatly needed and is soothing to our bitter yet sweet souls.
