The Jewish people were unable to understand the Old or the New Covenants because of the hardness of their hearts. Paul called it a veil over their minds. That all changes when we receive Christ. When we receive Christ He comes to live within us that He might live His life through us. We don't live by an external code but in a responsive relationship with God. This is our freedom and our great joy.
