An old catechism that is part of my tradition's heritage speaks of glorifying God as the primary purpose of human life. We may think of worship as something that glorifies God, but the prophet Isaiah seems to think not in the case of Israel. Worship is offered from the context of our daily lives, and that, more than anything, is what does or doesn't glorify God.
