Trinitarian academics are quite blind to the fact that they interpret the Shema to refer to a three person being but Jesus did not. Jesus was commanded to recognize and serve ISRAEL's God, not just "his" God. The Shema command concerns "OUR" God. It is a reference to ISRAEL's God. Jesus observed this command to serve ISRAEL's God by recognizing only one person. This shows beyond doubt that the God of Israel was the God of Jesus, the Father alone. But somehow Trinitarians are completely blind to this obvious fact. This is what idolatry does to people. Also see Mark 12:28-34.
