Our Gospel lesson for this third Sunday in Advent, introduces us to a man who came into being as the result of a special plan and purpose of God; to confess the coming Christ. This man’s name is John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus.

And within this portion of St. John’s Gospel, is found a wonderful list of confessions that were spoken by John the Baptist, who truthfully preached the words that the Holy Spirit gave him to preach!
