Dr. Jordan Rogers continues preaching through the Book of Genesis in this sermon from Genesis 48:1-22 entitled, "Two Characteristics of Commendable Faith."
Faith in the Lord Jesus is received by God the Father and rewarded with approval and commendation. The kind of faith that God receives is the faith that endures to the end.
Commendable faith endures to the end despite the sufferings of this life. Commendable faith also endures to the end despite not receiving the fulfillment of God’s promises in this life. That is, commendable faith looks forward to the future where God, in His Kingdom and for eternity, will make good on all His promises and fulfill them to the utter end. We see this kind of faith demonstrated by Jacob in his deathbed blessing to the sons of Joseph. Jacob’s faith is upheld in Hebrews 11:21 as the example we are to follow.
