Let me begin by reading verses that use “Rock”, and allow the Bible to speak for itself.
Deuteronomy 32:3-4 “3 I will publish the name of the LORD. 4 He is the Rock.”
1 Samuel 2:2 “There is none holy as the LORD … neither is there any rock like our God.”
2 Samuel 22:2 “The LORD is my rock, my deliverer;”
Psalm 62:1-2 “1 my soul waiteth upon God 2 He only is my rock and my salvation”
Psalm 78:35 “(the Hebrews) remembered that God was their rock.”
Psalm 118:22 “The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.”
Isaiah 8:14 NLT “13 to Israel and Judah he will be a stone that makes people stumble, a rock that makes them fall.”
Isaiah 28:16 “I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone.”
Daniel 2:34 “Thou (King Nebuchadnezzar) sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.”
From these 9 Old Testament verses, what conclusion do you draw?
Who is the Rock of Scripture? Deuteronomy 32:3-4 answers the question, “3 I will proclaim the name of the LORD; how glorious is our God! verse 4 He is the Rock.”
