Bill Johnson teaches how valuing God’s Word positions us to hear His voice. The parable of the sower reveals that the effect of the seed of God’s Word can be determined by the condition of the soil it is planted in. The condition of our hearts limits or facilitates the fruit of God’s Word in our lives. We all desire to hear God’s voice clearly, and how we value God’s Word determines how much and how well we will hear Him. Jesus taught in Mark 4: 24, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.” We attract what we value, and when we value God’s Word, we will increase our awareness of and sensitivity to what He is saying.
