I was at a restaurant once that let you pick out your own steak and then you got to cook your own steak. The You Pick It devotional series is kind of like that restaurant. I will read a passage and then you get to pick what verse stands out to you.
Today I read from Psalm 145:6-10. I want you to leave a comment below to tell me what verse from this passage jumps out to you. I’ll share mine, but I want to know what yours is too.
While reading the Bible, think about what you see in the passage. These are the steps I follow when I’m reading:
1. Read or listen to the Bible passage.
2. Think about what you read. Process it. What did you notice about the text?
3. Respond. This is meditating on the scriptures. Think about what God has done.
Psalm 145:6-10 reminds me that God gives us what we don’t deserve. We have received so much because of the grace of God. He is merciful and slow to anger. God loves us more than we love ourselves. We might not always see it that way, but God does what is best for us in light of eternity regardless of the cost to Himself.
“God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
God gave His all when He gave His Son on the cross. God wants His creation to turn to Him, to become His children. Some will reject that. I want to respond to that by praising Him and treating others with the kind of mercy and grace that God has shown me.
What verse stands out to you from Psalm 145:6-10? Let me know.
Thanks for watching!
