Do you feel stable or unstable? Do your emotions rise and fall like the waves? What do we hold on to when we are afraid or when we don’t know what to do?
James 1:5-8 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.” Our inner thought life and emotions are a deep part of us, but what do we do when they are overwhelming us? Is there anything we can hold on to for safety, guidance, and reassurance when we feel lost? Yes! God is our anchor in the roughest seas, our solid rock to stand upon! His protection, His promises, and His Word never change! It is our trust in Him as our anchor that carries us safely through every storm!
