The only way to overcome evil, and the only thing evil will yield to, is a power greater than itself. Political power isn’t stronger than evil—we’ve seen entire movements used to advance it. Human will isn’t stronger either—every one of us has, at some point, been overcome by it. But Almighty God is greater than evil. We need to be willing to invite the power of God into our lives, and what makes that available to us is the redemptive work of Jesus—not joining the right church, being friends with the right person, or being good enough. In humility, we want to acknowledge Jesus as Lord of our lives, submit to His authority, and walk in the victory only He can provide.
