ACTS CHAPTER 11 (continued):
Verses 1 – 14… Peter reports his activities at Caesarea upon his return to Jerusalem.
Verses 1-3… The “circumcision” took issue with Peter when they heard Peter was with the Gentiles.
John 16:33… Ephesians 6:10-13… Galatians 2:16, 21…
Matthew 23:23-28…
Verses 4-14… Peter explains what occurred in Joppa and then when he went to Cornelius in Caesarea.
Psalm 107:1-2…
Verses 27-30… Prophets in Antioch point to a great famine.
(Vs. 29… They sent relief to the brethren.
Matthew 5:16… 1st John 3:16-19… 2nd Corinthians 9…
(Vs. 30… Elders =Greek–Presbus = Ambassador, Representative.
ACTS CHAPTER 12:
Verses 1-4…… Peter’s Arrest.
Verses 1-2…. Herod puts James to death with the sword. He “mistreats the church”.
“Church” – Greek = Ekklesia – congregation / called out ones
“Mistreat” – Greek = Kakoo – to harm or do evil, to plague, injure
This is the same James found in Matthew Chapter 4:18-21.
Regarding persecution… Jesus said… John 15:18-21…
Verse 3… Herod saw it pleased the Jews, so he arrested Peter.
“Pleased” – Greek = Arestos – to be dear, pleasant, well pleasing.
How could anyone be pleased with the brutal death of someone?
Jeremiah 17:9… Ecclesiastes 9:3… Mark 7:20-23…
Ephesians 4:17-19… Isaiah 1:4-6… Matthew 13:14-15…
Romans 3:10… Romans 3:23…
Only one cure for the human heart.

Verse 4… Herod used 16 soldiers to guard Peter… his intention was to bring him out before the people after the Passover. Why?
