ACTS CHAPTER 13:
Verses 1-8… The First Missionary Journey

Verse 1… Prophets and Teachers.
           Prophets… Greek = Prophetes - It means one who speaks openly before anyone and is the technical name for an interpreter of the oracle of a Divine message.  One to whom God revealed His purposes, one to whom God spoke.
           Teachers… Greek = Didaskaios - A guide, a leader, a master.

Verses 2 & 3… They were praying and  fasting…
Mark 9:14-29… Isaiah 58:2-11
                              The Holy Spirit said… Acts 5:1-4… John 4:24…
                              God is the one who calls us… John 15:16…
                              They laid their hands on them… Numbers 27:18-23...
1st Timothy 4:14… 1st Timothy 5:22… Acts 8:17… Acts 19:6…

 Verse 4… They were sent out by the Holy Spirit.
Luke 10:1-3… Luke 10:17-20… John 15:4-5…

 Verse 5… They proclaim the Word of God.
2nd Timothy 4:1-5…  Jeremiah 23:28-32…  Hebrews 4:12…

Verses 6-8… The preached Word gets a reaction.
2 Corinthians 4:1-7… 2nd Corinthians 11:12-15…
