ACTS CHAPTER 8 (continued):
Verses 9-17… The Gospel is preached and many believe on Christ Jesus.
Romans 10:9-17… 1st Corinthians 1:18-21
Verses 9-11… Simon practices “magic”
Magic Arts – Greek = Mageia… which is Scorcery
The devil can produce “signs” by “magic” and by doing so, he deceives people.  
2nd Corinthians 10:4-5… 2nd Corinthians 4:1-4
Verses 12-17… People believe the Gospel, and they receive the Holy Spirit...  “The Greek Word here is “baptizo, which means “to be identified with”. 
John 14:26… John 15:26… John 16:13…
Acts 2:38-39… Romans 6:3-10
          Verses 18-24…. Simon offers money in exchange for the Holy Spirit.
         Verse 19… Only One can give Authority to use His Power.
Psalm 62:11… Matthew 28:18-20… Luke 10:17-20
         Verse 20… Peter rebukes Simon! A gift cannot be bought! (Romans 6:23b)…  It is received by faith.
Hebrews 11:6… Ephesians 2:8-9… Titus 3:5…
          Verses 21-24... Peter tells Simon the only way to God is to repent!   Turn around and change your thinking and direction!  It’s a bad heart condition. 
Jeremiah 17:9-10… Ezekiel 36:26-27…
