REVELATION CHAPTER 18 (continued):
Revelation 18:9-20. This system had also deceived all nations with her sorceries!  Revelation 18:23. This system was covered with the blood of many of God’s saints! Revelation 18:24
Reactions by those on EARTH:
Verse 9 (the monarchs); verse 11 (the merchants); and verse 17 (the mariners).  They ALL threw dirt on their heads.  WEEPING AND WAILING!

Reactions by those in HEAVEN:
Verse 20…  GREAT REJOICING!
Psalm 52….
Note:  There are three events in the great tribulation period which cause all of heaven’s saints to rejoice:
#1. When satan is cast out of heaven (Revelation 12:12). 
#2. When Babylon is destroyed (Revelation 18:20).  
#3. When the Lamb is married to the Church (Revelation 19:7).
·       There are 5 distinct reasons for this city’s destruction!
#1. This city will become the headquarters of all demonic activity during the tribulation period.

#2. The city had devilish pride.
Revelation 18:7 …. Proverbs 16:18…
#3. This city had GROSS MATERIALISM (sound familiar?).
Revelation 18:12-13…
#4. The city had immense drug and witchcraft activities.
Revelation 18:23…  The word “sorceries” here is the Greek word “Pharmakeia” meaning drugs!
#5. This city had much bloodshed!
Revelation 18:24 …. Matthew 18:6)
 
·       Summary of Revelation Chapter 18:  Praise to God!  The Lord says, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay”….Romans 12:19. Let us not be discouraged as believers!  God will have His time to overthrow ALL FALSE RELIGIONS AND WORLD POLITICS!  JESUS IS LORD, AND NO ONE ELSE HAS POWER TO DO THIS!       PSALM 62:11
