I Corinthians 4

V. 3-5, Don’t worry about what the world thinks

In verses 3 through 5 Paul gives a perfect response to all the haters out there who try and cast judgment upon the church. He simply says, I really don’t care what you think of me because your opinion really doesn’t matter. He goes on to say that the only opinion that does matter is the opinion of God and that one day every man will have to answer to God. At that time, everything that was done in darkness will be brought out into light and even the very intentions of a man’s heart will be exposed. What Paul says is both a very comforting thing to say and equally a very scary thing.

We should never take stock in what the world thinks of us and only put value on what God’s opinion is of our behavior. With that being said; God knows all, God sees all, and God will judge all. Nothing we have done or said can be hidden from Him and He knows whether the intentions of our heart was correct in everything we have done. The very motive behind every action of our life will be called into question. Comforting to know the opinion of the world doesn’t matter but scary to know that we are an open book before God. Therefore, Jesus is our only hope.
