It’s amazing how some churches choose their leaders! A man should not be a leader in the church just because he is a successful businessman, has innate leadership ability, or is a famous personality. He is to be a leader because he is a man of God. Under the plan God has ordained for the church, leadership is a position of humble, loving service. In the church, there is to be a plurality of godly men, elders, who oversee the Lord’s work in the church. They are assisted in their work by deacons. The basic offices of a church do not need to be more complex than that.
