No one said that being a Christ-follower would mean having a life of ease and comfort. Trouble, hardship, disappointments, and grief will come upon us all. Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble.” But He also said, “Take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33, NIV). On the cross, Jesus not only exhausted the curse of sin, taking our punishment, but He made the exchange for us to experience wholeness. “By his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5, NIV). Healing, freedom, forgiveness, and miracles all happen at the cross. You may not believe it or understand it, but we have the proof.
