What is the best way to hear what God is saying about dating someone or not?

The only sure and certain way to know exactly what the Lord has said is to look at the word of God (Psalm 119:105).

Never ignore the Scriptures. Don’t make the Bible more complicated than it really is. The Bible says not to be unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14), to not spend time with people who have bad character (Proverbs 13:20), and to pursue relationships with other Christians who are seeking the Lord in purity (2 Timothy 2:22).

If the Bible is clear about not dating someone because of the relevant biblical warnings you see, don’t try to explain it away just so you feel better about ignoring what God has said.

God will warn us in many ways, but God’s primary and most clear warnings are always found in his word.
