In his letter James instructs, ‘Be to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.’ As Christ followers we are to count our words, but just as importantly we need to make our words count. Every word we speak, write, text carries tremendous power. Power to build up or tear down. Power to hurt or heal. Our words matter especially as we consider our gospel mission. Words, both written and spoken, provide opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus with those who don’t know. If you want to really make words count direct them regularly towards our heavenly father in prayer. The more you converse with the Lord about people, the more equipped you will be to converse with people about the Lord.
