In Jesus' 3rd temptation, Satan tempted Jesus with the most subtle and dangerous temptation yet. Satan wanted Jesus to trust God that God would protect him when Jesus jumped off the temple. But this was not trust; Satan was tempting Jesus to back God into a corner, dictating to God what he wanted God to do. Today, the church has the same struggle. Sin masquerades itself as trust and faith when we dictate to God what he must do on our behalf.
