To help Trinitarians break free from false beliefs and to help them understand the biblical teaching of Isaiah 44:24 and the Son of God’s role in the Father’s creation, share and explain to them the following five points:
1) The context of Isaiah 44:24 speaks against the idols of Israel and the nations, not about God’s spirit sons. Read Isaiah 44:8-24 and share with them Psalm 82:1-6 and John 10:33-36 if they get confused about Isaiah 44:8.
2) Sons of God were “with” God when he created heavens and earth. Read Job 38:7 (Hebrew “sons of God” / Greek LXX “my angels”) to them and ask the Trinitarians, “Who was ‘with’ God when he created the heavens and the earth?” If they are confused, have them read Job 38:4-6 about the earth’s foundation being laid. Verses 8-9 show the creation of the sea and the clouds of the heavens. Verse 12 describes the creation of the morning light or sun. Then read to them Proverbs 8:30, which shows Wisdom (identified by Jesus as Jesus in Matthew 23:34-35 and Luke 11:49) was “with” God as a “master worker,” which in the Greek LXX reads, “I was with him putting things together” (EMEN PAR’ AUTWi hARMOZOUSA);
Note: Job 38:4 uses THEMELIO’W in the Greek LXX, as in Hebrews 1:10 (the quotation is from the Greek LXX of Psalm 102, which is not the same as the Hebrew text), since the Son copies Father’s works in “like manner” after watching what the Father does. See 4) below regarding 5.19" class="scriptRef">John 5:19 and see 5) below regarding the different uses of KATASKEUAZW for humans and for God, though in Hebrews 3:4 it says God KATASKEUAZW’s “all things” (PANTA);
3) KTIZW and EK are never used of the Son’s activity in NT, not even in in Proverbs 8:30 (hARMAZOMAI) but only of the Father’s activity. Note the passive verb EKTISHE in Colossians 1:16 showing what someone else did through and in the Firstborn, and the use of EK 1 Corinthians 8:6 only for the Father;
4) The Son does “nothing of his own” but “ONLY what he SEES the Father” doing, and then Son does things in “LIKE manner” (hOMOIWS in John 5:19). Here also in John 5:19 the Greek reads, OU DUNATAI hO hUIOS POIEIN APH’ hEAUTOU OUDEN, which clearly shows the Son is not “able to make / do one single thing from himself”;
5) More than one type of “creation” or “constructing” is possible according to the uses of KATASKEUAZW for man and for God in Hebrews 3:4, though only one type of KATASKEUAZW (KTIZW and EK) is reserved for the Father. Similarly, only God “creates” in the ultimate sense of bringing matter into existence, though the Son then “creates” things by putting the matter which is created “out of” (EK) the Father together, such as to form trees, after the Fathers shows him what to do (John 5:19). Humans then “create” houses out of the trees. Hence, the teaching of Hebrews 3:4, which is consistent with Isaiah 44:24 and every other text related to the work of the Father, the Son, and humans in ‘creating’ or ‘constructing’ things.
