Paul describes himself as having more reason for confidence in the flesh. This matters because we can become tempted to confidence in the flesh just like others. Paul gives 7 reasons he could put his faith in his works: rituals, heritage, rank, traditions, religiousness, hard work, legal righteousness. At the end of the day, he counts them as nothing compared to Christ.
