Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law? — Galatians 4:21
I believe the moments we want justice are those moments when someone else has been unjust to us. Then we really want it because we have been treated unjustly. But what we fail to consider is that we, too, are unjust. And then, when we act unjustly, we want grace, not justice. And that's the point Paul is trying to make here. The things you really want are grace, not justice, freedom, not slavery, promise, and not a prison.
So today, do this. Extend grace to someone who does not deserve it. And as you do, look into their eyes. See their surprise. And then remember you worship a God who is full of grace and who has liberated you not to sin but from sin to enjoy freedom.
ASK THIS: Who is someone who needs grace around you today.
DO THIS: Give them the gift of grace that God gave you.
PRAY THIS: God, I pray that others will see you through me as I extend your grace.
