This song has to be one of my favorite songs on this “Soulful Scripture Songs” project! I love the thought that, built into the act and invitation of casting our cares on the Lord, we are given His sustaining strength and power. Below is the complete list of scriptures I wrote the song from. Some of these were not read before this particular song.  
 
Musically, I was going for a Motown sound which is basically a more gospel sound. I had written this chord progression and melody a few years ago and was never able to find the lyrics that were meant for it. Then, I read Psalms 55:22 – “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you” and I thought, “That’s it!” The 6/8 feel brings both a sense of comfort as we release our fears and boldness as we declare God's promises. I pray it blesses you.

14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company. 
15 Let death seize#stm8686 upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them. 
16 As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. 
17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. 
18 He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.
