A WELCOMING INVITATION. The return of Christ is a key theme of the book of Revelation. We joyously celebrate His first coming, His first “advent,” in the Christmas season. But daily we should also anticipate and pray for His return, His second “advent,” to take us home to be with Him forever. Today I did so by praying “Maranatha.” I am ready for Christ to come again. When I read the news of another mass shooting, another terrorist attack, or another outrage to my Christian conscience, I am ready for Christ to come again. Despite the efforts of people of good faith, the dark side of humanity seems an unquenchable source of evil. I am ready for Christ to return. I don’t know exactly how His coming or our residence in the New Jerusalem will work. The closing chapters of Revelation give answers, but in all honesty, they raise questions as well. Yet I don’t need to know everything, and I am at peace with that. I am ready for Christ to come again. Are you ready as well, or does part of your heart fear that you will be among those excluded from the holy city? Being able and willing to pray for Christ to return right now is a great test of one’s spiritual health, a test of one’s relationship with the Lord Jesus. Practice the Maranatha prayer for a week. Pray it sincerely, in true faith. If you take this seriously, it will make a difference.

I have been preaching and teaching Bible for over 50 years. In 1957, I began studying the scriptures diligently after graduating from high school. In 1980, God began dealing with me, bringing me to what I believed was my deathbed in 1985. In the hospital, I awoke near death crying out to God, "Lord, You are going to kill me if I don't quit living for myself and saying all the truth in my power!!!" Thereafter, I began to say these blunt plain words that appeal to the elect sheep. As a result, I began to make more enemies than I could have ever imagined. I was sick and tired of the “mush” gospel that churches were preaching. My family was confused, and on many occasions on the way home from church, my wife would say, "he said such-and-such last week and he said this-and-that this week contradicting what he said the previous week." I began to say to my wife Mary, "don't listen to the preacher, because he doesn't know what he’s talking about." Finally, I said, "this is a waste of time! We are going home. We are not going to these churches anymore. Help get this message out to God's elect family! 
 
God Has Chosen 
Romans 8:29-30 - "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified" 
 
Foreknow - to have a personal intimate relationship beforehand 
 
God predetermined that all who belonged to him before the foundation of the world were to "conform" to the word of God in obedience to Christ 
 
All that were predestined were "called", "justified", and "glorified" (past tense verbs). These were fixed in the mind of God before the world began. (Ephesians 1:4; Acts 13:48; II Thessalonians 2:13). The election of the saints is unto accountability (I Peter 1:2) 
 
The majority of the protestant church held to this doctrine during the reformation. It is the foundation of "The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689". You Baptists are supposed to be believing it and you've discarded this precious doctrine of Grace!

On today’s edition of Family Talk, David Green and his son, Steve Green, explain how they see retail as an avenue for ministry. David also expounds upon his conviction to give away large sums of Hobby Lobby’s profit, keep the stores closed on Sundays, and place Christ-centered, full-page newspaper ads on Christmas and Easter. Steve, who became president of Hobby Lobby in 2004, affirms God’s call on the Green family to be wise stewards and bold evangelists in all of their endeavors. 
 
About Today's Guest: David Green and Steve Green 
David Green is the founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby, a chain of arts and crafts stores. He also serves on the board of reference for Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. David has authored two books entitled "More Than a Hobby," and "Giving It All Away…And Getting It Back Again." In 2013, he was the honored recipient of the World Changer award, and he is an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award recipient, and a lifetime member of The Entrepreneur of the Year Hall of Fame. David is married to Barbara, and they have three grown children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 
 
Steve Green is the president of Hobby Lobby. He is also the co-founder of the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., and currently serves as chairman of the board. Steve has authored four books including "Faith in America," "The Bible in America" and "This Dangerous Book." He and his wife, Jackie, have six children and six grandchildren.
