JOHN MACARTHUR - Why Was Jesus Born? (Hebrews 2:9-18)

Dear Friend,  
The saints at Grace Life Bible Church are pleased you chose to visit with us online. Grace Life Bible Church is unique from other churches because we believe that you can understand the Bible for yourself and that we can show you how.  The Bible can be an imposing book for many people due its sheer size and diverse literary styles, however, when the Bible is approached and studied the way God Himself says it ought to be in His word, all of sudden the Bible makes sense.  Rather than a book of contradictions, the Scriptures become a seamless story detailing Gods plan and purpose for the universe that He created for himself and our involvement in His plan.  

Instead of joining the skeptics, or running for the nearest church exit, consider what Paul writes in 2 Timothy 2:15.  He states, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  Did you notice what God just did?  He acknowledged that the Bible does say different things in different places and therefore needs to be divided rightly.  Simply stated, when we recognize and acknowledge the divisions God himself placed in His word not only can we understand it for ourselves but we also have his approval.  What a great deal!!!  

Real Answers for Real Life is the slogan we have adopted at Grace Life Bible Church because we sincerely believe that right division of Gods word provides the answers to peoples spiritual struggles.  Have you ever struggled with any of the following questions:

    * Am I really saved?  How do I know?
    * Am I eternally secured?  Can I have assurance of my salvation now?
    * Do I need to be baptized?  How should I be baptized?
    * Do I need to speak with tongues?
    * Is God punishing me for my unconfessed sins?
    * Does God intervene physically in the world today?
    * Will I be robbing God if I dont pay my tithes and offerings?
    * Is the rapture a real doctrine and does it happen before the tribulation?
    * Why does my church only focus on believers and not winning the lost to Christ?
    * What is the fellowship of the mystery?
    * Does God still love me when I sin?  How can I have victory over sin?
    * There are so many Bible how do I know which one is correct?

I have been preaching and teaching Bible for over 50 years. In 1957, I began studying the scriptures diligently after graduating from high school. In 1980, God began dealing with me, bringing me to what I believed was my deathbed in 1985. In the hospital, I awoke near death crying out to God, "Lord, You are going to kill me if I don't quit living for myself and saying all the truth in my power!!!" Thereafter, I began to say these blunt plain words that appeal to the elect sheep. As a result, I began to make more enemies than I could have ever imagined. I was sick and tired of the “mush” gospel that churches were preaching. My family was confused, and on many occasions on the way home from church, my wife would say, "he said such-and-such last week and he said this-and-that this week contradicting what he said the previous week." I began to say to my wife Mary, "don't listen to the preacher, because he doesn't know what he’s talking about." Finally, I said, "this is a waste of time! We are going home. We are not going to these churches anymore. I will teach you from our home." Help get this message out to God's predestinated family! 
 
God Has Chosen 
Romans 8:29-30 - "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified" 
 
Foreknow - to have a personal intimate relationship beforehand 
 
God predetermined that all who belonged to him before the foundation of the world were to "conform" to the word of God in obedience to Christ 
 
All that were predestined were "called", "justified", and "glorified" (past tense verbs). These were fixed in the mind of God before the world began. (Ephesians 1:4; Acts 13:48; II Thessalonians 2:13). The election of the saints is unto accountability (I Peter 1:2) 
 
The majority of the protestant church held to this doctrine during the reformation. It is the foundation of "The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689". You Baptists are supposed to be believing it and you've discarded this precious doctrine of Grace!
