As we come to the "prophecy" section, Micah 4-5, we are reminded that when you mention the name Micah, an ancient Jewish prophet, one most likely thinks of the Christmas story and the birthplace of Jesus revealed in Micah 5:2, Bethlehem-Ephratah. However, as stated before, there is so much prophecy in Micah, which must be looked at as well. 
 
What I am going to do is with each pass through this book, for our devotions, I will unlock more evidence of the Second Coming of the Messiah Jesus Christ from this great prophetic book. 
 
The fact is that our extended reading for today has five different prophecies plus a prophecy that tells us of the exact location where Jesus Christ was born. Not the city, we know that was Bethlehem. I mean the exact spot of His birth. 
 
But for today, we will look at only one of these five prophecies. Our key verse tells of a coming "temple" to be established on the spot known as, "the mountain of the house of the Lord". 
 
I must remind you that during Micah's ministry, there was a Temple standing in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount. This was the temple that King Solomon had built around 1000 B.C. Remember, that Temple, built by Israel’s third King, Solomon, was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 B.C. 
 
Notice the first 5 words of Micah 4, "but in the last days". This designation of time reveals to us that the temple that Micah is referring to is the one that will be in Jerusalem when Jesus is "ruling and reigning". Verse 2 says that the people of the world will come up to the Temple to be taught by the Messiah, Jesus. 
 
It will be a time when the "word of the Lord" shall go forth from Jerusalem. This prophecy will be fulfilled when Jesus has returned and we are living in the 1,000 year Kingdom that He sets up.

Forty days after Christmas, everything changes when Jesus comes to the temple for us. 
 
It’s forty days after Christmas. In keeping with the Torah, Mary and Joseph have brought the forty-day-old Jesus to the temple to present Him to the Lord. Big things happen on this day — more than Ground Hog’s Day and more than Super Bowl Sunday. A man waits, even into old age, for a promise by the Holy Spirit to be fulfilled: Simeon — his life will be changed forever. And eighty-four-year-old widow who spent her life in the temple, “worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day (Luke 2:37): Anna — her life will be changed forever. And Mary and Joseph — their lives will surely be changed forever. So, for you and me, and for every Christian man, woman, and child, everything will change.

Forty days after Christmas, everything changes when Jesus comes to the temple for us.

It’s forty days after Christmas. In keeping with the Torah, Mary and Joseph have brought the forty-day-old Jesus to the temple to present Him to the Lord. Big things happen on this day — more than Ground Hog’s Day and more than Super Bowl Sunday. A man waits, even into old age, for a promise by the Holy Spirit to be fulfilled: Simeon — his life will be changed forever. And eighty-four-year-old widow who spent her life in the temple, “worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day (Luke 2:37): Anna — her life will be changed forever. And Mary and Joseph — their lives will surely be changed forever. So, for you and me, and for ever

[Lq:2:22] Meta għalqilhom iż-żmien għall-purifikazzjoni tagħhom skont il-Liġi ta' Mosè, Marija u Ġużeppi ħadu lil Ġesù Ġerusalemm biex jippreżentawh lill-Mulej, [Lq:2:23] kif hemm miktub fil-Liġi tal-Mulej, li 'kull tifel li jitwieled l-ewwel, jiġi kkonsagrat lill-Mulej,' [Lq:2:24] u biex joffru b'sagrifiċċju 'par gamiem jew żewġ bċieċen,' kif jingħad ukoll fil-Liġi tal-Mulej.

Hi brother Ed I am a little confused about what happened in the Garden of Eden. Adam died that's physical death. What else died spiritual or his relationship with God. Jesus said you must be born again that's your spirit. So how can you connect the two. My pastor said we have a dead spirit and we died spiritual. Can you clear this up for me.

I know I’ve heard brother James’s explain this so-called discrepancy, but I can’t remember what the explanation was or where I heard it. Could you shed some light on this for me? 
 
While I agree with the roots of Christmas all being pagan, there is at least one Bible story that messes with my understanding of what God accepts as worship. Mt 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: This is unscriptural (OT) as can be and Christ gloriously accepted it. Where does that fit in? It's the first time we read of virtue flowing from Christ to someone else, and it took precedence over the Hebrew girl, Jairus' daughter (in the context of course). And later was apparently a commonly accepted form of worship or at least an appeal to Him for healing. Mt 14:36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole. Do you see my point of dilemma Bro Ed?
