On sera surpris peut - etre de ne pas voir figurer parmi les noms des correspondants d'adolphe Monod ceux de quelques amis avec lesquels il eut des correspondances interessantes et parfois cousi derables, tels que MM. Gonthier, Napoleon Roussel, Courtois, de Toulouse, Verny, et meme son frere Frederic Monod, etc. Quelques - unes de ces cor respondances ont ete detruites; d'autres ont disparu, par suite de circonstances diverses.
